Port Hadlock to Belfair State Park which is south of Bremerton, WA

First full day of riding - 62 miles. We had an early start (for us) at 9 am. We didn't make it to the campground until 7 pm because we stopped in Silverdale which had a very large mall. I couldn't find a new Kindle to buy which was good because when we set up camp I found my Kindle at the bottom of one of my panniers. ☺ After that we went searching to find a health food restaurant my riding partner saw mentioned in a local newspaper. We finally found it and they had stopped serving lunch for the day. We bought a few items which were not so great - it turned out everything was Vegan (yum)! We have seen many bikers. Apparently, biking is very popular in the Pacific Northwest. We met a couple tonight from South Carolina who are cycling down the coast. I believe they started in Montana and they said the heat was oppressive in eastern Washington. We met another biker from Arizona two nights ago who was also coming from Montana. He said he started cycling each day at 4 am due to the heat. We have had hot weather but it isn't to bad and at night it quickly cools off which makes sleeping comfortable. This is July 4th weekend so the campground is pretty crowded. We had intended to stay in one of the hiker/biker sites which are available to bikers on a first come basis (no reservations) but they were filled. Luckily there was one regular campsite left in the park which we were able to take. One of the fun things about Washington state parks is that you have to buy tokens for hot shower water. One dollar token gets you 3 minutes of hot water. Of course ice cold water is free.
